last month I had an (for me very special) experience I want to tell you about now: The fifteenth birthday party of my brazilian cousin. Getting fifteen in Germany is nothing special, but here it means that a girl becomes a woman and has to be celebrated very big. Well, this party was bigger than any wedding party I’ve ever been on. In front of the entrace was a very big poster with a photo of her (looked like one of these high-fashion photographs) and we were received by fire eaters and photographers. We had to show our bracelet we got with the invitation and the bouncers let us pass. Inside, the hall was beautiful decorated and there were lots of flatscreens and two big canvases, on which they showed photos of my cousin. Yes, they did do an big photoshooting just for this party. Anyway, the food and the drinks were adorable, everyone beauliful dressed, the music cool and loud and they had really thought of EVERYTHING. You could even change your high-heels to flip-flops when your feed hurted (they produced flip-flops only for this party, with the name of my cousin on it!) or repair your nailpolish on the toilet. There where plenty of photographers and even one cameraman. They did a great dancing show, the family of my cousin held an sentimental speak about her childhood and later there was a big danceflor and animators organized funny party games. I really had a lot of fun on this party and I can’t think of anything that they could have been doing better. But on the other hand, I honestly don’t want to know how much money they spent for this party and I’m asking myself if this is really necessary. On my fiftheenth birthday I just had an barbacue and an sleepover with a few friends. You know what? I also had lots of fun and it was great.
